一个好爸爸 | Run Papa Run

Run Papa Run is a bit of a different take on the usual Hong Kong gangster movie shenanigans. In the film, Louis Koo plays Lee, a young man who finds father figures in the Triads his mother takes care of in her underground clinic. Despite his mother’s objections, Lee joins the local gang, and soon becomes one of the most powerful gangsters in Hong Kong. However, things are turned upside down for Lee soon after her meets a pretty lawyer named Mabel. After getting Mabel pregnant and marrying her in a shotgun wedding, Lee finds himself wanting to be a “good” Triad for the sake of his daughter, Heiyi. Of course, it isn’t so easy for a hardened gangster to be a nice guy, and Lee must try to balance the needs of both of his “families”.

Sui Wai lost her fiance Ah Man in a car accident. With the obligations of life sitting heavy on her shoulders, she lives on only to find herself confiding in her beloved through a phone call. Dai Fai. a mini-bus driver who witnessed Ah Man’s death, is always there offering her attentive encouragement and support, yet he himself also lives in the shadow of his last relationship. When Siu Wai strives to face the future without the man she loves, Dai Fai finds himself steadily falling in love with her.

杀手蝴蝶梦 | My Heart Is That Eternal Rose

Rick and Lap are star-crossed lovers whose initial romance was torn apart by the murder of her father. Years later, they meet once more, but circumstances have changed. Rick is now a suave hitman for hire, while Lap is the girlfriend of powerful crime boss Shen. The years and distance have taken their toll on the lovers, but their passion still burns, drawing the two back together. Their treachery does not escape the notice of Shen, nor Shen’s right-hand man, played by Shaw Brothers legend Gordon Liu. Rick and Lap’s only ally may be Cheung, a mousy triad who carries his own torch for Lap. With few options left to the lovers, and with Shen in hot pursuit, the stage is set for a violent, blood-drenched finale…
